Introduction

The Medical Prescreen step must be completed before the Intake Prebook process can be completed and the inmate accepted into facility custody. The prescreen is implemented as an electronic form so it can be customized for each agency and/or facility. A prescreen may be a simple acknowledgment or a more complex questionnaire depending on the process and needs of the agency.

Prescreen Form

The Medical Prescreen step displays the agency form. Users must complete the form, including any required fields, as part of the Medical Prescreen step.

Form Design

Each form is designed to the requirements of the agency. The following is an example of a Medical Prescreen form implemented in ATIMS.

Form Logic

Form logic is specific to the agency implementation. A form can include elements such as questions, signatures, narrative observations, and other information. A form can also be used to trigger other actions based on the answers provided.

Complete Prescreen

To complete the medical prescreen form and the workflow step:

  1. Click Start next to the Medical Prescreen item in the Prebook tasks list on the Prebook Detail page. The prescreen form displays.

  2. Complete all required fields in the available form.

  3. (Optional) Click E-Signature to collect an electronic signature.

  4. (Optional) Click Print to print the form or generate an Adobe PDF file.

  5. Click Save to Save the form.

  6. Click Accept to indicate that the person can be taken into custody, or Reject to put the person in the medically rejected queue. They will remain in the rejected queue for 48 hours.

When the Medical Prescreen step is completed, the Prebook Detail page displays and the status for the step is updated. Continue to the Identity or Review steps. If both steps are complete, proceed to the Intake Create step.
